Morris Minor rally at
Harewood House near Leeds. The
black saloon is Robins first car.

Here Andrew Booth ( in

This is one of the best
looking saloons I have seen. The colour
stance and wheel and tyre size are good.

They are held on an old air field so the opportunity of driving
hard and fast exists. I had to work so I let Robin take the car
down with Charlie Wright.

Bruntingthorpe. The organisers laid
out a drag strip and Robin is racing and beating Richard

Here I am with Russ Smith
at Santa Pod racing for the Fiat
Twin trophy for the fastest fiat Minor. We were the only two
cars taking part.

|
|
We raced many times that
day at Santa Pod and I beat Russ
to the finish line every time but some how he ran a 15.96 to
take the trophy. That time is also 1/100 sec quicker than my
fastest ever time in the car. Many people wondered how we
were running so fast and were surprised when they found out
we were only running twin cams.

Note the consistency
of the times and speeds, very good for
a car with low grip and manual gearbox.

The advert which I put
in the auto trader to sell my Minor.
It sold for £1350 to a lad holding only his provisional license.
The money went towards a new project my Reliant Kitten.

I put over 50 runs in
down the drag strip and could generally
run times within 1/10 sec of each other.

Advert spotted in the
trader Feb 1993. I was tempted to buy
it back but its no good living on only good memories.

Nov 1995. This time the
price is very attractive. We actually
rang up to get some details. We also saw the car at Doncaster
custom show and it looked a little tired. If I wanted a car like
it again it would be easier to build another from scratch.
