The rear caliper with
lock wired bolts. Lock wire does not keep the fasteners tight but it will
stop them coming undone. |
A new pedal assembly
has been constructed to give me more leg room and to enable twin master cylinders
to be fitted for the brakes. |

I continue to drive the car every summer and still have great fun. Insurance is now just over £100 per year fully comprehensive with 1500 miles. It is extremly fast and handles on smooth roads really well. The engine is now putting out 135 bhp at the wheels ( stock is around 100 bhp) and is much more responsive. The car is very fast off the line from a standing start and I even beat a friends Honda Fireblade motor bike to 60 mph. However fuel consumption around town is now only 15 mpg but on a motorway run 25 mpg is possible. The next stage of development for the car is a large capacity tuned Rover engine. With 250 - 300 bhp I am sure the car will do 0-100mph in around 6 or 7 secs. Money is required for a new engine and I will have to wait until my new project is finished. In the mean time I continue to enjoy driving the best car so far that I have ever driven. |
